Tall tornado near Bradshaw, NE on June 20, 2011. The brown-red Nebraskan dirt surrounded the tornado making for a very striking photo!

That's an amazing color. Kind of reminds me of the Ash Valley tornado in '74 from the TVC series. Awesome contrast.

Thanks! The red-brown dirt getting pulled up all the way to the base really made the tornado epic.

incredible, we don't have nothing comparable over here in germany... most impressive i've seen was the waves crashing to the shore during a storm... i come from the coast and i often watched that... :D

yes, i can imagine... i once saw a very good feature on tv about tornados and storm hunters and i thought if i'd live in a country where tornados come up i'd be a maniac too... :D
it's a pity that i wasn't into photography when we watched the storm waves at the shore... we often went there at night... i think nightly shots of that with flashlight could be quite impressive... :D

Sad day!! We almost didn't either, but the stars aligned just right to get us there just in time.

I mean, it's a tornado - on the ground, not quite a mile in front of you.
Amazing to see. Wonderful picture.

Another amazing shot.

So cool to see such color in a tornado. Seems rather unique to my untrained eye :)
